Read Timothy Leary’s Brain Melting Comics

original

In his 1977 book Exo-Psychology, psychologist and psychedelic drug advocate Timothy Leary revealed his eight-circuit model of consciousness, his theory about the workings of the human mind and the future neurological “circuits” that humanity might someday access and utilize in our travels beyond Earth. In 1979, the theory was adapted into Neurocomics, a trippy comic book exploration of the mind, human evolution, and how we might journey to the stars. Rene Walter has posted the entire (NSFW) Neurocomics online, and it provides a fascinating look into Leary’s peculiar transhumanist ideas. -VIA:- io9-

And yet it is the mystery that enshrouds this tomb site in Loughcrew, in Ireland’s County Meath, that is the real secret to its appeal.

Eye of Horus is Actually a Mathematical Problem

The Eye of Horus is, from a design standpoint, both beautiful and iconic. And whoever created it might have been thinking of exactly that while dreaming it up. But it’s not just a stylish symbol. It has a deeper meaning: The Egyptians used it to express fractions of volume. Each stroke counts for a subdivided piece of the whole.

Doomsday Dreaming (PART 1 of 3)

History is littered with people seeing all sorts of things in their dreams that they might want to interpret in their own way.  So much that we have we have prophecy after prophecy about the end of the world  and still no real doomsday has arrived from these.  With some of these people writing it down in books that we now read as religious texts, they spout off their predictions based on what is going on in the society around them.
