A female boa constrictor snake has given birth to two litters of extraordinary offspring.
Evidence suggests the mother snake has had multiple virgin births, producing 22 baby snakes that have no father.

The Zodiac Killer claimed to have murdered 37 people. The killings, which paralyzed Californians with fear for years, began in 1968, and soon after mysterious letters were sent to news outlets, many featuring cryptograms.
From this point on, the killer started communicating via letters and greetings cards. Each of these messages was concluded with the crossed-circle design pictured above. Later it became known as the Zodiac signature. These letters as well as some coded messages were sent by the killer to different, well-known newspapers, including the San Francisco Examiner and the Vallejo Times Herald.
Many of these notes still haven’t been decoded, and the murders have yet to be solved. See the coded messages at Environmental Graffiti. Link

“This is the moment a group of tiny caterpillars formed an incredible 17ft long convoy to cross a road. Some 136 caterpillars made the single line and wriggled top-to-toe across the road, linked by a thin silk thread which set their path. And their safety-in-numbers approach had the desired effect as the slow-moving convoy was easily seen by motorists, who were held up for 20 minutes as it made its way across. The spectacle was captured on camera by British tourist Jamie Rooney, who was visiting the famous Kruger National Park in South Africa.”

“An artist who crucifies animals on stage and sprays the audience with blood has shocked critics by holding art workshops for children. Extreme performance artist Hermann Nitsch – whose fans include David Bowie and Yoko Ono – has stunned audiences with his blood soaked events based on Roman sacrifices and orgies. Now the controversial artist is staging art sessions for youngsters at a museum dedicated to his work in Mistelbach, Austria. Curator Dagmar Kunert explained: “Hopefully some the master’s veneration for color will rub off on them. But the classes have infuriated critics who say his work is too extreme for children.”
There are lots of great art shows on the West coast this summer. Congregation Gallery’s Black Plague Art Show looks wonderful.
