Not Forgotten: Mac Tonnies

This week marks the untimely passing of blogger and Fortean researcher Mr. Mac Tonnies. It was two years ago now that Mac departed us, under curious circumstances in his sleep (he was only 34), and left behind the legacy of -POSTHUMAN BLUES.  Mac was an author, UFOlogist, futurist, conspiracy theorist, and consummate researcher who had  many friends, associates and compatriots, myself included. Russia wants to build a base in the Moon’s underground tunnels

Back in 2008, the Japanese Kaguya spacecraft made a fascinating discovery when it found a metres-deep cave in the Sea of Tranquility. Amazed by the find, NASA had its orbiting Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) to have in the depth scan of the area, which came back with high res images, like the one above. Scientists believe these are actually entrances to a complex labyrinth of lunar tunnels. Now, one of the most renowned Russian cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev claims that these caves are actually an idea spot for placing a colony.

In a galactic replay of merging of the Earth’s tectonic plates into a massive supercontinent known as Pangea 250 million years ago, the Spitzer Space Telescope caught images of four massive galaxies slamming into each other and kicking up billions of stars like grains of sand! As the largest galactic pileup in the known universe, it will produce a huge offspring.
