Art fans in Southern California looking to see some new superhero works of art, were also able to check out Tim MacLean’s latest solo show and see the Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Spider Man in the way only MacLean can present them. For this latest show Maclean “explores the landscapes of mental realms, where the conscious and unconscious connect and archetypal patterns expand and converge.”

He always incorporated fantastic characters into his mixed media work, and he’s continued to do so, creating more wooden cut-out installations and a series of graphite drawings infused with explosive watercolor elements. Johnsen’s always done a great job of rendering the darker side of life. His characters are full of dark eyes and yellowing teeth. Seriously awesome stuff from this dude, always. Read more »

The New York office of ad agency Y&R came up with this idea for Motor City Nightmares, a horror film convention in Detroit. Eventually, they will offer customizable buckets for bulk orders online at horrorbucket.com (site not active yet). Just a nice simple idea.

Now isn’t this just a lovely thing to have around for the kids? I wish I knew the original source of this picture. It looks like something you may be able to purchase at Etsy, although the human teeth may make it a limited edition toy.
