5 Examples of Zombie-Proof Architecture

Most people are afraid of zombies, and for good reason – they want to eat your head. Whether they are scaring the stuffing out of you in the cinema or soaking up some of your precious bullets in a video game, zombies have become very much the monster of the moment.

If you want to look deeply into it, the zombie has been used as an allegorical symbol of humanity’s blind ambition to eradicate itself as well as a great metaphor for the West’s reliance on mass consumerism. Designer Revital Cohen’s The Immortal installation consists of  five hacked life support machines so that they each keep one another alive.  Each machine is circulating liquids and air in attempt to mimic a biological structure.

Tribute to Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys

Adam Yauch, more famously known as MCA of the legendary band Beastie Boys has passed away at the age of 47 (link). For the past few years Yauch has battled cancer. Since the 80′s Beastie Boys have influenced an endless amount of musicians, created some of the most memorable music videos around, and inspired artists in every medium, not just music. Just last month the Beastie Boys were inducted into the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
