Anatomy Revealed

These are fantastic digital manipulations by Dutch artist, Koen Hauser. As part of the series, Modische Atlas der Anatomie, Hauser takes a female subject, photographs her body in certain frozen poses, and then digitally adds/removes her skin to reveal organs and internal body structures.

Asia’s Flying Dragon Lizards

There are dragons in the jungles of Southeast Asia. Or, at least, arboreal lizards of the genus Draco, or “dragon”, volans. These lizards look perfectly ordinary when they are scampering up and down their home trees, munching on ants and termites. The only thing dragon-esque about them is their scaly, patterned bodies, and armored heads. All impressions change, however, when the Draco lizards launch themselves off a branch and extend their elongated ribs into ‘wings’. Yes, wings.

Amazing Iceland Ice Cave

Ice caves are temporary structures that appear at the edge of glaciers. They look amazingly beautiful from the inside. This particular cave is located on the frozen lagoon of the Svínafellsjökull glacier in Skaftafell, Iceland.
