“For those of you who have been following this column for a while, you may remember an edition that came out in my first year called The Top Ten Most Underrated Movies. These were of course movies I felt were either unfairly maligned or ignored. They might have even been movies that had cult followings but not the love that they should. That time the list of movies included The Exorcist III, Wrong Turn, Slither, Willard, Dog Soldiers, May, Session 9, Ginger Snaps, Frailty and Black Christmas.
“I promised that in the future I would present more overlooked films because there are a lot out there that I personally love and no one else seems to like or know about. So here they are, more underrated horror movies for you to enjoy.”
My list, I’d have to put John Carpenter’s THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS up there. That’s a creepy ending!!!

I’m sorry though, DISTRICT 9 wasn’t a horror movie, and JEEPERS CREEPERS is nowhere on the list, nor is THE RING or BLAIR WITCH. Say what you will of these films, they were better than some on this TOP 25 list… DAWN OF THE DEAD remake should have been there as well, and QUARANTINED among others that pop into mind…

If we’re talking under-rated, Thora Birch has actually been in some decent flicks lately. THE HOLE, DARK CORNER, TRAIN, DEADLINE…
Also, I liked SKELETON KEY with Kate Hudson, and ironic that it was released like the same week of Hurricane Katrina…

Thora is my girlfriend, and DARK CORNERS actually was pretty good. THE HOLE and TRAIN wasn’t bad either. Still gotta check out DEADLINE…
